A list of common Korean words that should be explained:

ajumma (아줌마): middle aged to older Korean women; stereotypically loud and outgoing
ajosshi (아저씨): middle aged to older Korean men
bbali bbali (빨리 빨리): "fast fast"; the culture of getting things done immediately
han (한): the deep-seeded sorrow that is used to describe the historical hardships of the Korean people
jeong (정): the deep connection between people, close to love or compassion(?)
noon-chi (눈치): reading between the lines in social contexts, reading others feelings

Relationship Terms: often used to be cute, and are not limited to actual siblings or family members

  • oppa (오빠): "older brother"; the term of endearment for a close female-male relationship in which the male is older than the female
  • unni (언니): "older sister"; younger female to older female
  • noona (누나): "older sister"; younger male to older female
  • hyung (형): "older brother"; younger male to older male
